In 1965, Buddy Mitchell and his son George Mitchell formed Mitchell & Son, Inc., in a 7200 square foot building at 451 North Waldran in Memphis, Tennessee.

Through hard work, the company grew rapidly.

In 1979, the company moved to its present 30,000 square foot building at 1580 Chelsea in Memphis, Tennessee.

From modest beginnings, Mitchell & Son has grown to a position of leadership in its industry; a position typified in part by one of the most modern plants in the South.

In 2006, George Mitchell announced his retirement, and as a result of a strategic 3 year plan, the company was purchased by three key employees. Dale Pollet, Ron Monmaney, and Rickey Dixon, offer Mitchell and Son customers a combined 70 years experience; with the majority of that being served right here at Mitchell and Son, Inc.

Situated at 1580 Chelsea Avenue in North Memphis, minutes from major Interstates, the Mitchell plant encompasses 30,000 square feet in a modern concrete-and-steel building equipped to handle virtually any machining, welding, fabricating or metallizing project.

Ease of access, extensive material-handling equipment including two overhead cranes, and space to accommodate customer work of any size are the principal features of a facility so large as to acquire the full-time efforts of one man merely to keep work areas free of cutting residue and other debris.
